How do I bulk upload products using a CSV file?
Solution

This article will list the fields available for bulk uploading and provide examples of the data supported by bulk uploading.

It is not required that you have all of these fields completed to perform a bulk upload. The only required fields are Name, Product ID, and Price. Also, not all of these fields are available for every version. If you don't see a field for all of these options, it may be that you are using a different version than the cart used in this example.

example fields 1

-Product ID: Required; UNIQUE product Identifier. Can be alphanumeric in nature (supporting both letters and numbers).
-Product Name: Required; This is the field for the name for your product. If not given by a manufacturer it should be descriptive and easy to remember. The cart will use the NAME as the default URL. "Polynesian Pearl Necklace", is much better in terms of SEO and is much easier for customers to remember and recommend to friends.
-Price: Required; this would be the price for your product **IMPORTANT** notice that the currency is NOT displaying, adding the $ sign to this will cause the upload to FAIL. The only thing in this field should be numbers and decimals.
-Available: (Yes or No) this would simply be the option to show if this product is available. A "No" in this column would still load the products, but they would not be available to view (even for you) from the front end of the site. This would be advantageous for holiday items, or items in a category not yet ready for sale.
-Product SKU: Stock-keeping Unit. Typically used for keeping track of stock and inventory in a warehouse or a retail outlet. This number may be required by only ONE of your drop shippers.
- UPC code: Universal Product Code or "bar-code" created for scanning at point of sale. Some shoppers search for these on their favorite items. Never hurts to help your items be found by those who are looking. MAINLY used on exported items.
-GTIN: Global Trade Item Number also a bar-code for international items.
-MPN: Manufacture Part Numbers are not used in every industry (often in manufacturing) support for product exporting.

-Categories: this does not need the name of the category. You must use the CATEGORY KEY/ID which can be created and found on the category or sub-category page. If you use only the name, the database will not understand where your product should go.

If you do have subcategories then you would need to separate them with the symbol with double pipes "||". The | key is often found above the enter key on most keyboards.
---->example: main_category||subcategory||second_subcategory

-Manufacturer name: this would simply be [if you have set any] a manufacturer name.
-Manufacturer code: [if you had set a manufacturer earlier] this where you would put the manufacturer code.
-Location name: This feature allows you to automatically send shipping notification of products purchased to manufacturer. This will need to be set up before the load of products.
-Location code: [if you had set a location earlier] this where you would put the location code.

-Lock Product: <--- this is to keep your product locked in with price, name, code, etc (Yes or No or blank)
-Lock fields:<--- this also applies to the above [lock product] (Yes or No or blank)
This feature is meant for bulk uploading. If you choose to "lock in" an image or price these features will be unchangeable for that product. For example, if you locked in a product in the admin area of your cart and then exported the product to CSV any changes made to the CSV will be ignored on the fields that are 'locked' and will not be updated until they are unlocked or altered directly through the administration area of your website. To restate: locking prevents bulk updating.

-Meta Keywords: These are searchable words meant to drawn in visitors to your site. The main words which will be searched, these should be separated by comas (jewelry, bracelets, diamonds)
-Meta Title: The title is one of the first things that a search engine searches for on a page. It is recommended that Every First Word of the Meta Title be Capitalized. Your title should be kept short and to the point.
-Meta Description: This should describe what is available on your page, e.g, "Large selection of famous brand printers". Your description should be different on every page.
-Priority:
(positive or negative numbers)Controls the order in which default displayed products are shown. Please keep in mind that your customer's will have the option of selecting differing views based on price, and newest to system which can override the default selection.
-Rating:
-Reviews Count:
-Date Added:
-Call for Price: (Yes or No) Selecting Yes in the field would enable the cart to hide the price on the product page and display text requesting your customers "call for price".

-Is Taxable:(Yes or No) Your products can be later added in bulk though the admin area, if you are questioning this answer at the time of the upload.
-Tax Class Name: "general" is usually the default if created within the admin area of the cart. You have the ability to create more classes as needed.
-Tax Class Id: this is referred to as the "tax class key" within the admin area, and should be lowercase.
-Tax rate on Product Level: If you have a product or products which require a tax rate at the product level you can bulk upload the numbers.
-Cost: This field will help you keep track of your bottom line. This field is NOT displayed to your customers and is for record purposes only.
- Sale price: If you include a sale price, it will be displayed beneath the regular price and displayed in RED.
-Price level 1,2,3: These are the price levels for your wholesalers. Only those signed in on each level will see the true discount.

-Free Shipping (at the product level): (Yes or No)You will find this selection as a check box in the admin area.
-Weight: If your products will be using a real time shipping method, such as UPS, or USPS, then you will need to assign a weight for each product. Product weight within the cart is in POUNDS (lbs) and can be set to work with kilograms (kg) from your site's local settings.
-Inter pack: used by wholesalers.
-Case pack: used by wholesalers.
- Min order: You can set a minimum amount
-Max order:You can limit the amount of items each customer is allowed to purchase.

- Dollar Days: (Yes or No) Is your product a Dollar Days Product?
-Doba:(Yes or No) Is your product a Doba Product?

These fields are relatively new - they allow you to move, build or specify what your url will be for the PRODUCT. You are now allowed to decide if you would like the category included.

-Stock: The actual number of items in your inventory
-Stock Warning: (Numerical)The cart will send out a warning to the Admin Accounts when the stock reaches this number, so that the item can be reordered from the manufacturer.
- Inventory: (Hide or OutOfStock) The rule that will decide what the cart will do once your inventory has reached 0.
-Overview: This area will be displayed on the category page as well as the product page. It can give your customers a quick idea of what sets this product apart from other products you offer. Such as metal type, stone, length of chain, or even the dimensions of the product.
